Ph.D Candidate, USC Media Arts + Practice
Ruiz is a media artist and doctoral student focused on design and social justice, digital media and learning, and games and art practice. In partnership with mtvU, she led a USC team in the development of the multiple-award-winning game Darfur is Dying. Their follow-up game, RePlay: Finding Zoe, also won several awards. Ruiz is a cofounder of Take Action Games, a collaborative design studio specializing in games for change that traverse the intersections of game design, documentary, computational art, activism, and ethics.
